About Robyn Lensch

A gifted musician, Robyn has a passion to reach the lost through her worshipful expression of music.  Her songs have the ability to encourage and draw the listener into a place of intimacy with God.  With musical influences by such contemporary Christian music pioneers as Keith Green, John Michael Talbot, and Twila Paris, Robyn's piano driven compositions are no less than scripture translated into songs that have modern day relavance.
No stranger to a life of faith, Robyn was raised beneath the wings of a spritually grounded mother and father, along with her 4 siblings.  Her father, a Lutheran minister, was powerfully touched and changed by the Holy Spirit in the late 60's and called to serve in a faith ministry.  Robyn consequently bore witness to God's faithfulness in a tangible way, seeing her family's needs being met on a daily basis.  This example would ultimately have a direct impact on the path that she would choose.
In 1977, God spoke a personal word (Matthew 6:33, 34) to Robyn's heart that propelled her on a life changing spiritual journey.  At age 13, she developed an insatiable appetite to know God more fully and intimately, immersing herself in the "meaty" aspects of theology through Scripture, prayer, and books about Christianity.
As a young girl, Robyn discovered that God had given her an ability to play the piano and guitar by ear.  She would spend hours refining her musicality by figuring out how to play songs that she would simply hear.  As a teenager, Robyn began to write songs from her heart and then share her music in church.  This would be the start of her public ministry and a prolific songwriting career, which has included published works by Christ For The Nations Institute, Hal Leonard Publishing, and Kent Henry's "The Psalmist".
The following years would serve to develop a stronger passion and desire to serve God through her music.  A four-year experience working in the worship ministry of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Albany, NY, proved to be ministry "boot camp" for this emerging worship leader.  It was during these years that God would further develop and enhance Robyn's musical gifts as well as strengthen her heart for worship.  Robyn's association in the late 80's with the 40 voice traveling youth choir, Chosen Generation, gave her a desire to take her gift of worship and music beyond the boundaries of a single church.  Some might call her a "musical missionary".
Over the span of the last two decades, Robyn has served as the worship leader of several churches, developing worship teams and strengthening worship ministries.  She is one of the founding members of the contemporary Christian band Tehillah and has organized Concerts of Praise throughout the Northeast.  Robyn has also traveled extensively throughout the United States ministering through concerts, retreats, and worship seminars.  Her universal appeal is evidenced by the diverse congregations that she has had affiliations with including: Free Methodist, Baptist, United Methodist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Plymouth Brethren, Congregational, Missionary Alliance, Evangelical, Calvary Chapel, Pentecostal, and Episcopal. Robyn has also traveled abroad to Mexico and Israel to serve in ministry related assignments.
